As I get older, and hopefully, wiser, I find myself looking forward more to the New Year than to Christmas. I love the excess of the holiday season, the festive mess left in the house, the excitement as my kids open their gifts. But Christmas doesn't do for me what it once did. As much as I hate putting away all the trappings of the season, I find that I'm really looking forward to having the house cleaned up, the yard cleaned up, and a new year ahead. Time to push the reset button and have another go at life.
I'm not trying to be maudlin. Just getting older, I suppose. Anyway, Happy New Year to all you wonderful, crazy, creative people. I wish you all the best.

Well, holidays are usually centered around kids anyway. Happy new year, ttyymmnn! Here's to another year on Oppo.

They are centered around kids, but I'm always so busy now leading up to Christmas Day that there's just no time to enjoy anything any more. Part of being a responsible adult, I know. But it's still a bummer in some ways.

Thanks happy new year to you and yours as well. As you know 2014 was full of lowlights for myself but 2015 should be better.

I'm with ya. Hangover or not first thing I'll do tomorrow is rip the lights down, cut up and burn the tree and store away all the decorations. It's sad the next thing I have to look forward to is taxes.

Sometimes I don't take the tree down until roughly St. Patrick's day, but it feels good to clean things up and start fresh.
